each trip plus information about all the amazing

On the Accurate Reels
16-day trip. This trip will be a ride down/ride back
with a fly home option out of Cabo San Lucas. Accurate

Skiff/Kayak-Mother-Ship Trips
Fish Targeted: Primarily Calico
Bass and Yellowtail but other species are also caught.
Fishing from skiffs is one of the
best unexploited fisheries on the Mexican Coast. The
areas we go to are very lightly fished and the fishing
is superb. Imagine 2-8 lb. Calico Bass erupting on
surface iron and hammering swimbaits. Experience 15-30
lb. Yellowtail boiling around the Q105 while fishing on
the calm waters of a rugged Baja coastal Island Add in
trophy Yellowtail, White Sea bass and Halibut and your
trip is complete.
You will be one of only 24 anglers on
board. With 9 anglers in skiffs, 6 in kayaks, and only 9
on the Qualifier 105 waiting their turn in the skiff
rotation, uncrowned fishing conditions prevail.

heading to "The "Rocks ". The past few years have been
providing a good Tuna bite at Alijos Rocks mid June with
a superior Yellowtail workout at the ridge of the LARGER
SIZE or the home guard mossbacks. Come join us and see
if you are one of the many who will set a personal best
on your favorite species. As you well know, the A.H.I.
has a tradition of finding fish in a BIG WAY. Blue fin,
Albies, Dorado, Wahoo and Grouper ...all are species,
that depending on our luck and how good YOU are, can be
bagged at this time of year.

History The AHI trip has been running since1990 and was
originally founded by, Pete Gray (Lets Talk Hookup Fame)
Dallas Lamb and Gary Vanderlyke, as a three-day trip.
After three successful years of finding "a _ _ holes"
and convincing them to take a fishing trip, Gary and
Dallas decided to take over the Invitational. There have
been many memorable trips aboard the Qualifier 105,
including the infamous Bluefin trip, and Gary "The
Cowboy" is quoted as saying he loves the boat more than
his own home. Gary has amazing patience and is always
willing to answer any angler’s questions. Dallas, well
anyone who knows him, knows the huge effort this guy
makes to put together a "Show" with great music and all
kinds of "What happens on the boat stays on the boat"
silliness. with trophies and much much more. Come and

Matt, Steve, and the gang return in 2011.
Conceived by owner Ed Tschernoscha in 2002, Baja Fish
Gear was initially intended to be located in Los
Barriles, Baja California Sur with the acquisition of
East Cape Tackle. After a year of negotiations that
finally fell through, Ed began looking for a location
between Los Angeles Harbor and Redondo Beach King Harbor
to service the greater South Bay - San Pedro area. The
original location was finally found in November 2002 and
within a few short months, Baja Fish Gear was opened
January 23, 2003 in Lomita, exactly six miles from the
Los Angeles Harbor and Redondo Beach King Harbor. The
retail location from the start has been filled will
excessive amounts of custom handmade lures from Hawaii
to designer hooks for even the most particular long
range specialist. Baja Fish Gear’s mission statement has
always been: To provide the best available selection of
tackle at a fair price and information for big game,
local and long range fishing from Southern California to
Baja California, and beyond.
Matt
Groff is one of our Sales Associate at Baja Fish Gear
specializing in International fishing. When he's not at
the shop answering questions on international sports
fishing he's with his family in a remote, exotic
location, offshore. One of his greatest fishing moments
was when he was traveling with his family to Venezuela.
He landed a 350lb Atlantic Blue Marlin and Sailfish. His
second greatest fishing moment was in 2004 when he went
to Alaska and fished with True Northern Charters. He

2011 will be the
18th annual trip on the Qualifier 105. This
group of families and friends have 2 and
sometimes 3 generations of anglers on board.
Young and old, novice and expert, but all great
people. Often the best fish count of the
summer!
The annual sign
up “Fish Party” in Ojai is legendary for its
food, drink and fish stories. Cajun Deep Fried
Turkeys, Calimarianos, Santa Rosa Island Elk
Chile, etc. Its almost as good as Chef Chris’s
gourmet offerings on the boat. In 2010, Capt.
Joe put the group on over 700 fish on the first
day of fishing, half yellowtail, and half tuna.

Shelby "Barnett" Borg, age 12, has really put some fish
aboard for a first time angler. Shelby is the niece of
long time Qualifier angler Dick Barnett, who is the
uncle of the current charter master Chuck Barnett, who
is the son of the original charter master AC Barnett,
who is onboard with his two grand children Kristen and
Kevin Barnett, who have been fishing with the Q105 since
they were little kids and who are now all grown up and
helping to teach Shelby to fish. Woww! That was a

Melton trips are all about having a good time and
catching lots of fish. You can be sure that everyone
aboard our trips will win some great fishing tackle
from all the best vendors in the fishing industry.
Last year on are trip we gave away well over $5,000
worth of great prizes like a Shimano Tallica 16II,
three pairs of Costa Del Mar Sunglasses, Kaenon
Sunglasses, Custom Melton fishing rods Just to name
a few. We will be targeting tuna , wahoo , and
yellowtail on this trip. We will most likely be

Coastside:

Coastside is a relatively new trip
compared to many of our other sponsored trips, only
starting about five years ago. However, it is wildly
popular and tends to fill extremely fast. Bob Franko the
founder of Coastside has been fishing with the Qualifier
105 since its first year at sea and decided along with
charter masters Chris Hall to create a 5-day summer and
a 10-day fall trip aboard the boat. The trip is
sponsored by Hi’s Tackle and WFO sport fishing, which
kindly donates tackle boxes, terminal gear, and rods and
reels for raffles and give a ways. Prizes are also
awarded daily for the biggest fish. Chris estimates that
this year will probably bring $2000-$3000 worth of
prizes. Coastside has more than 20,000 active members;
so if this sounds like the trip for you, make your
reservation now. Coastside will also be running a 15 day
in April of 2010 and is on stand by status. Check our
schedule for dates as these trips fill fast.
