Processing your catch

So, you had a great trip on the Qualifier 105.  Caught a boatload of the finest eating fish Baja California has to offer.  What now?  After your last trip you spent three hours in the back yard filleting your catch, almost cut off your thumb, and ended up with about a hundred pounds of waste that you had to do something with... soon.  You waited 'till after dark, loaded the ripening remains into the trunk of your car and made a run to the dumpster behind the park.  Took your wife along as an accomplice (that didn't work out well) and almost got busted for trespassing or something.  There has to be an easier way.  Fortunately, there is.  When the Q (or most of the other long range boats) docks after a trip, it is met by crews from the three local fish processing companies;  5 Star Fish Processing, Fisherman's Processing, and Sportsmen's Seafood.  For a surprisingly low fee, these folks will take your catch from the dock to their facility, prepare it as you specify and even deliver or ship it to you if you can't pick it up.  Each of these companies offers different services and all three come highly recommended by the folks at the Qualifier 105.

Five Star Fish Processing is family owned and operated.  They have been processing fish for  sport fishermen since 2003.  You may often see Andy and Sarah's children working at the docks.  They love hard work just like their parents do.  Andy and Sarah are also proud to have employees who care about each and every aspect of their fish processing business.

They offer full service custom filleting, smoking and vacuum packaging and guarantee that the fish that you receive is the fish that you caught.  There is a comfortable waiting room, television, and a viewing area where you can watch as your catch is prepared.

Customer service and honesty is their style.  Give them a call before your trip to ensure the fastest and most efficient service.

Sportsmen's Seafood/Mario's Fish Processing has been serving fishermen in the same West Mission Bay waterfront location for over 20 years.  They guarantee same day processing and are within walking distance of the Hyatt Islandia Motel, Seaworld, their own excellent seafood restaurant (Sportsman's Seafood), and many other venues to enjoy if you want to wait as your catch is processed.  They also will ship to you anywhere if you just want to leave your fish with them and get home.

Capt. Mario Ghio and his staff have been together for 15 years.  They emphasize customer satisfaction and handle every fisherman's catch individually with old world attention to detail.  Whether filleted, smoked, or jerked, each order is packaged to your specifications, blast frozen to -10 degrees, and returned to you with your tag number, boat, species and date.

Mario says that their secret family marinade recipes and  smoking technique are the keys to his world famous Tuna Jerkey.
